The Village of Cassopolis is the first community in Michigan to deploy a fully integrated Intellistreets® system. As part of a comprehensive revitalization effort, the project transformed both the historic downtown streetscape and the community’s new public beach using IntelliStreets® Smart City Solutions.
The Intellistreets® PTM (Post Top Module) was selected to deliver a full complement of intelligent features while preserving the historic character of the pole assembly. The system integrates Push Blue notification, digital signage, pedestrian Wi-Fi connectivity, color-changing RGBA notification beacons, and an omnidirectional speaker that streams music and broadcasts announcements.
Nineteen LED Digital Banners provide a flexible, efficient alternative to printing and installing physical banners, allowing the Village to update messaging instantly. Each light pole also incorporates internal irrigation, eliminating the need for manual watering of seasonal hanging baskets and saving valuable public works time. The banners are used for holiday messages, celebrating service members, and high school graduates.
Integrated audio further enhances the downtown experience, with scheduled music playing as residents and visitors explore the area. During the winter holiday season, Cassopolis activates festive programming—alternating red and green post-top lighting paired with seasonal music—to create a warm, welcoming winter wonderland atmosphere.
