Concord, North Carolina, is the home of the legendary Charlotte Motor Speedway. Tourism in Cabarrus County generates over $ 6.225 million annually. A mid-sized, growing city, Concord offers a great live-work-play environment. Concord’s history dates back over 200 years. Back in the late 1700’s, it was settled by Irish and German immigrants. The progressive city government restored downtown infrastructure, adding modern amenities while preserving the historic roots.
Working with city planners, Intellistreets® provided consultation on the required features and added an entertainment feature that celebrates the community’s harmony.
Beginning with the Intellistreets® Wireless Common Operating Platform, with lighting control and high-definition sound, all poles feature color-adjustable flood lights, controlled power receptacles, and sensor inputs. Selected poles feature concealed 360-degree cameras, Push Blue call stations, Wi-Fi, and a wired Concealed Placement Speaker (CPS) at the base of each pole for street band and parade sound support. Finally, selected poles have LED Banners for information and safety announcements.
A unique feature was created by the Intellistreets® team and their friends at Illuminating Concepts. Four truss-style towers were designed and fabricated, each housing linear, programmable color-mixing LED bands that extend vertically toward a pyramid-shaped top. Between the towers and installed in a non-traditional pattern are color-mixing string lights. The entire system is controlled by Intellistreets® for on-and-off and show selection.
At the new courthouse, Intellistreets®, in cooperation with Burkette Lighting Design, was installed in Hess™ Mosaic Montage columns to wirelessly control color and add sound. A unique and successful application.
